Goal Unlocked: 50 Countries Before I Turn 30

Yup, you heard it here first, folks! 50 countries before i turn 30. that is theeeeee goal. I started off 2021 with that goal for a few reasons, and just so y’all can get a feel for me, im gonna let ya in on why:

Starting from the way beginning… The older i get (Yes, a whole 26 trips around the sun, nbd) I realize how blessed i was to grow up in a family who prioritized travel and had the ability to travel. My parents raised me to be open minded, adventurous, independent, and most importantly, to try anything atleast once. We traveled to nearly every state in the US by way of RV, touring and exploring national parks. We spent time in foreign countries, learning about new cultures, meeting new people, trying new foods. Traveling became something i treasured from a pretty early age.

Fast forward, after leaving a military career where i was told where to live, how long to live there, where i could go, when i could go there, etc… i realized how much I was longing to pick up and just travel the world.

Even more independence fell into my lap when i decided to leave a 5 year relationship that wasn’t for me; the hardest but best decision i’ve ever made. (Side note: if you’re everrrr asking yourself repeatedly if you’re meant for more or with the wrong person or anything along those lines… let me tell you one thing: your heart knows. Your gut is telling you something and if you don’t listen, you aren’t opening yourself up for the abundance that the world wants to offer you. When you stay in situations that your heart knows are wrong, it’s probably because fear has you thinking that the BARE MINIMUM of boxes that those situations are offering you are all you’ll ever have. You’re scared if you leave, you’ll never have those boxes checked again.. but let me tell you from experience: by letting go of the BARE MINIMUM, you make space for the BEST CASE SCENARIO, the things you don’t even know are possible, in the absolute best way. **thank you for coming to my tedtalk)

Anyway, being truly independent and, honestly, alone, inspired me to start doing the things i’ve always felt the most alive doing. One of which was traveling again. Experiencing the world again, something i had tricked myself into thinking i didn’t need for the previous 5 years…

SoOoOoo, come 2021, i booked a spontaneous solo international trip to Greece and oooof the fire was lit. (A whole blog will be posted on this trip, don’t worry! lots of reccs and advice to come) Two weeks of new people, new cities, new experiences, a new culture.. just new new new and it reminded me how much travel means to me; it makes me feel truly alive.

Although i didn’t make it to many countries in 2021, i know my goal of 50 before im 30 is more than reasonable! So here i am, starting this blog to track my adventures, give recommendations, share advice, and bring y’all along for the wild ride it’s about to be!
